Explore data analysis tools like SQL, APIs and web scraping. Learn to interpret, visualise and present data-driven insights for strategic decisions. (Prerequisite: IT 545)
DIG 520 – Maths & Statistics for Database Analysis (3 Credits)
Master foundational and applied statistics, linear regression, ANOVA and hypothesis testing essential for business decision-making. (No prerequisites)
DIG 521 – Digital Technology I (3 Credits)
Examine how digital innovations—from blockchain to disruption—are redefining strategy, business models and product design. (No prerequisites)
DIG 580 – MBDA Integrative Project (3 Credits)
Solve real-world business problems using cross-disciplinary knowledge. Combine with peers, industry cases and simulations to develop actionable strategies. (Prerequisites: IT 545, DIG 515, IT 535)
DIG 597 – BDA Capstone Project (3 Credits)
Undertake a live analytics project with a real company. Present data-driven recommendations addressing legal, ethical and business concerns. Includes full research documentation. (Prerequisites: Core technical courses including DIG 580)
IT 505 – Database Technologies (3 Credits)
Learn relational database design, SQL and big data tools like Apache Spark and PostgreSQL through projects. (No prerequisites)
IT 526 – Cloud Computing & Big Data Analytics (3 Credits)
Analyse large-scale data systems via AWS, Azure and Google Cloud. Understand data mining in the cloud ecosystem. (Prerequisite: IT 505)
IT 528 – Data Visualization (3 Credits)
Design powerful visualisations using Power BI and Tableau. Develop visual storytelling for complex data insights. (Prerequisite: IT 505)
IT 535 – Machine Learning for Business Analytics (3 Credits)
Apply ML algorithms like neural nets, decision trees and clustering to real business cases using statistical software. (Prerequisites: IT 545, DIG 515)
IT 545 – Object-Oriented Programming in Python (3 Credits)
Develop data-centric Python skills. Learn OOP, data handling and scripting for business insights and automation. (No prerequisites)
