In the first year of the MSc in Brand and Marketing Management, students will build a strong foundation in strategic marketing, innovation, and project management.

 

Semester 1 

In the first semester, students will delve into a range of core subjects designed to develop both their strategic and creative skills. The Strategy & Innovation module equips students with the ability to create and implement forward-thinking strategies in an ever-changing business environment. The Project Management: Toolbox and Techniques course provides practical tools to manage complex projects efficiently, while the Business Functions (Simulation) module introduces students to the operational aspects of businesses through simulation. In International Marketing, students will explore global market dynamics, focusing on adapting strategies for diverse cultural contexts. The Branding in the Social Media Era course examines the evolving role of social media in shaping modern branding strategies. Students will also engage in the #ATM1 Challenge: CreaCthon Product Design, an exciting hands-on challenge to innovate and create new products. The Explore Your Career Options module will provide students with the opportunity to reflect on their career paths and aspirations. The semester also includes language development with English for Business Functions, and students can optionally take German as a Foreign Language to further enhance their global employability.

 

Semester 2

In the second semester, students will deepen their understanding of innovative marketing strategies and sustainable business practices. The Innovation, Agility & Design Thinking course emphasises creative problem-solving and flexibility in the face of rapidly changing business landscapes. Sustainable Development and CSR in the Digital Age explores how businesses can incorporate sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR) into their strategies. Students will also study Digital Transformation & Data Security, learning about the digital shift in business and the importance of data protection. The Big Data & Business Analytics course helps students understand how to harness big data to drive business decisions. The Sustainable Brands and Ethics of Consumption module examines the ethical considerations of branding in today’s eco-conscious market. Students will take part in the #ATM2 Challenge: CreaCthon Event Design, focusing on designing engaging, impactful events. The semester concludes with a Professional and Specialised Micro-Certificate to enhance skills in a specific area of expertise, alongside the English for Specific Purposes module. As in Semester 1, students may choose to further improve their language skills with German as a Foreign Language.

The Design, Storytelling and Campaigns course focuses on the importance of creativity and storytelling in building compelling brand narratives. Students will also study current issues in marketing and branding, analysing the latest trends and challenges in the industry. Additionally, they will pursue a professional and specialised micro-certificate, further enhancing their expertise in a specific area of marketing. Research Methods & Data Analytics will prepare students to use data to inform marketing strategies, while the Professional Experience M1 allows students to gain hands-on, practical experience. The semester concludes with an option to study German as a foreign language, enhancing global career opportunities.

 

Semester 4 

In the fourth semester, students will focus on applying their knowledge and skills in real-world settings. The Professional Experience M2 offers students the opportunity to work within an organisation, gaining valuable industry experience and insights. Finally, students will engage in a company-based research project, where they will conduct in-depth research for a real company, solving complex marketing and branding challenges.
